BERMUDA – Hurricane Imelda has moved past Bermuda, leaving more than 17,000 without power and trees down… but no reported injuries.

The storm weakened to a category one early Thursday… with winds around 80 miles per hour.

National Security Minister Michael Weeks urged residents to stay sheltered as crews begin damage assessments.

Hurricane Imelda also brought flooding to Cuba and Haiti earlier this week, killing two people and leaving one missing.

Forecasters warn the hurricane season could remain active into November.
