NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Inagua residents welcoming free COVID testing on that island, as the government’s pilot program kicked off on Wednesday. Residents say it’s something that should have been in place a long time ago. 



Zion Baptist Church Hall in Matthew Town now stands as a makeshift testing facility on Inagua, giving residents a sense of relief now that they know their covid status.

Inagua has seen a surge in covid-19 cases and deaths.

Leona Burnside was one of the fortunate ones, having survived her fight against Covid 19. Now she’s encouraging fellow residents to get tested.

The virus can spread easily in tight-knit island communities on Family Islands. Inagua residents say its important to know your status.
