NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas National Statistical Institute (BNSI) is reporting a 0.5 percent drop in overall inflation in December 2023 when compared to November of the same year.

The BNSI says the decrease followed another 0.2 percent drop between October and November 2023.

But are Bahamians feeling the fall in prices?

The statement from BNSI revealed the decrease was seen in areas like transportation, recreation food and non-alcoholic beverages.

However some areas saw an increase in consumer price index for that month.

The Inter-American Development Bank revealed last year that inflation in The Bahamas should drop to about three percent this year when compared to the 4.1 percent rate recorded in March 2023.

But the men we look at said things are still tough for Bahamians.
