FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA – Islands across the country participating in International Ship and Port Security Drills designed to test the response times of first responders, and best practices of all parties involved, in the event of a major terrorist attack.

Our Megan Shepherd witnessed the drill over in Grand Bahama.

Smoke filled the air and bodies were thrown across the ground at Bahama Rock Facilities but on site emergency personnel were quickly on the scene to render assistance. Thankfully, it was all a part of an emergency drill aimed to test response times in major incidents.

Port Security Facility Officer, Brian Burrows, says employees at Bahama Rock are trained on a consistent basis and he is pleased with what they demonstrated during the drill.
