ANDROS, BAHAMAS – Equipped with posters, dozens of residents in North Andros gathered outside the Bahamas Power and Light main office to air their grievances over power issues.

Last month, the power plant in Nicholls Town suffered a catastrophic blaze that destroyed the facility.

Leading the protest, self-proclaimed advocate Lisa Sweeting says the frequent outages have made life especially hard for residents and businesses.

In a statement following the protest, BPL said minor challenges resulted in periods of supply interruption.

They also say BPL technicians were flown in on Tuesday and according to the company, power has been fully restored.
