Jamaica Ranked Most Peaceful Country In The Caribbean

JAMAICA – Jamaica has been ranked the third most peaceful country in North and Central America in the 2026 Global Peace Index, which uses 23 indicators that measure safety and security, levels of ongoing conflict, and the degree of militarization in each country.

JAMICA – Jamaica has been ranked the third most peaceful country in North and Central America in the 2026 Global Peace Index, which uses 23 indicators that measure safety and security, levels of ongoing conflict, and the degree of militarization in each country.

Canada remained the region’s most peaceful nation in the region and globally, Costa Rica is the second most peaceful in the region.

The report found that the world became less peaceful for the 15th time in the last 18 years – 99 countries became less peaceful over the past year, compared with 62 that improved.

Haiti remained the least peaceful country in North and Central America and ranked 142nd globally.
