JAMAICA – Jamaica’s new rural school bus system is ramping up route testing ahead of its full launch in September.

By the end of today, 63 out of 122 planned routes will have been tested, including in Manchester, Hanover, and Clarendon.

Transport Minister Daryl Vaz in a post on “X” says the process has been smooth so fa, with only minor tweaks needed but tyre issues were flagged.

Officials say new tyres are on the way, with replacements set before the school year begins.

Three different bus sizes are also being tested to match each route’s needs.
