New York Liberty Beats the Minnesota Lynx 76-66

Jonquel Jones and her New York Liberty have lost one of their last eight games, falling to the Minnesota Lynx last Friday, 88-83 in Barclay’s Center. The Liberty got their lick back last night, trouncing the Liberty 76-66 in Minneapolis.

Jonquel Jones played a huge part in New York’s win, scoring 15 points and grabbing 17 rebounds, matching her season high.

Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Brianna Stewart and Betnijah Laney had 17 points apiece. Napheesa Collier led Minnesota with 18 points and 8 rebounds.

Jones ate in the paint on both ends, making 7 of 11 shots, with all coming from right at the front of the rim.

She also anchored the defense blocking two shots and altering a number of others.

The Liberty is the best team in the WNBA Eastern Conference with a 21-6 record and the hands-down favorite to go to the finals.
Jones will get a rematch against the Las Vegas Aces, the team she lost to in last year’s finals with the Connecticut Sun, tomorrow on ABC at 3 pm.

This is probably a preview of the 2023 WNBA finals, so you don’t want to miss it. It’s a big matchup for JJ with Aja Wilson, who dominated a hobbled JJ in last year’s finals. Jones is definitely going to try to eat in tomorrow’s game.
