NEW YORK, U.S.A. – Jonquel Jones dominated both ends of the floor against her former team with another double double en route to a win.

Jones registered her 101st career double-double Monday night 18 points and 11 rebounds in New York’s 81-79 win over the Connecticut Sun.

She shot 8-10 from the field also had six assists.

Hampered by an ankle injury, it was jones’ 11 double-doubles in 26 regular-season appearances.

Her 101st double doubles ranks seventh in WNBA history and she also holds the league record for the most double-doubles in a single postseason – eight during the 2023 playoffs run with the Sun.

The Liberty are currently holding a 23–15 record with six games remaining and will face a mix of home and away matchups. 

Up next, they host the Washington Mystics on Thursday at the Barclays Center followed by road games against the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday and the Golden State Valkyries on Tuesday.

MLB

Jazz Chisholm Jr. just broke his season-high home run mark last night with his 25th of 2025.

That two-run shot also marked his third in the last two games, as the Yankees continued their surge toward October with a 10-5 win over the Washington Nationals.

The recent power display comes as the Yankees hold steady in the wild card race–sitting at 71–60, Narrowly half a game ahead of the Seattle mariners and tied with Boston Red Sox.

Baseball

The Sioux City Explorers’ clubhouse will now have two Bahamians as they make a postseason run in the American Association of Pro Baseball.

The explorers already have outfielder D’shawn Knowles and recently traded for right hand pitcher Tahnaj Thomas from the Milwaukee Milkmen for future considerations. 

Thomas appeared in 28 games for the Milkmen and is currently is on a stretch where he has not allowed a run in his last four outings this month.

They’re not the only Bahamian teammates making a postseason run in the league – the Explorers lead the West Division while Daunte Stuart and Chavez Young have the Lake Country Dockhounds leading the East Division.

Both the Explorers and Dockhounds have clinched playoff spots when the postseason begins September 3.

Basketball

Right now his focus is on the Americup but Sammy Hunter has already solidified the next stop on his young pro basketball career – Kosovo was fun, but now Austria is the move

Hunter, signed a one-year deal with BC Vienna of the Austrian Basketball Superliga – the top tier league in the country.

Vienna has won the Austrian championship two times – 2013 and 2022 – and will join the ABA League First Division this season.

Hunter played his rookie season of pro basketball with kb Trepça in Kosovo.

He averaged 13.7 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, while shooting 40 percent from three point range, leading Trepça to the Kosovo Superleague championship.
