UNITED STATES – Jonquel Jones and the Liberty logged their second straight win, taking down the Phoenix Mercury 75-68.

JJ had 9 points and 9 rebounds and she patrolled the paint with 2 blocks.

The rookie from France Pauline Astier led the team with 16 points and she added 6 assists and 6 rebounds for good measure.

Betnija Laney-Hamilton added 13 off the bench to help the Libs get the win.

Kahleah Copper had 16 to lead the Mercury.

Major League Baseball

Jazz Chisholm had a rough night at the plate going 0-5 but it didn’t matter because his New York yankees beat up on the a’s 8-2.

Ben Rice and Paul Goldschmidt both hit home runs.

Coach Antoan Richardson and his Atlanta bzraves got the 8-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds.

His outfield protege Ronald Acuña hit a home run in that one.

And down in the minors Chicago Cubs prospect Bj Murray continues to dominate Triple-A. He was a home run short of the cycle, hitting a single, a double and a triple, scoring three times and driving in one run as his Iowa Cubs beat the Indanapolis Indians 8-3.
