NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge has called on former Long Island MP Adrian Gibson to present a defense in his bribery and fraud trial, while ruling that prosecutors had failed to make out against co-accused Peaches Farquharson.

Gibson, the former chairman of the Water and Sewerage Corporation, is being prosecuted along with three others, in relation to painting and landscaping contracts awarded by the corporation between 2020 and 2021.

Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson ruled that Gibson, Joan Knowles, his former campaign manager, his barber, Jerome Missick, and former Water and Sewerage Corporation general manager Elwood Donaldson Jr have a case to answer.

The jury was directed to acquit Farquharson, who faced two counts of conspiracy to commit fraud by false pretenses, in relation to contracts awarded to Adam’s Landscaping.
