NASSAU, BAHAMAS – How do Junkanooers feel about the return to Bay after a two-year hiatus?

Three of them speak with Sasha Lightbourne about the upcoming parade season.



When Junkanooers return to Bay Street on Independence morning Dennis Saunders, John Williams, and Kendanique Campbell Moss describe how they envision it will be.

Saunders, Williams, and Campbell Moss say the two-year hiatus was two years too long.

They all recognize junkanoo will look different come the morning of July 10th, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day with COVID protocols enforced.

Health and safety protocols for the Junkanoo parades are to be determined, according to the Ministers for Culture and Health. Those are expected to be made public closer to the parade dates.
