NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A supreme court jury has acquitted a man of raping a woman while she was blindfolded, by a vote of 7-2.

Gary Talbot Cooper is accused of tricking his 21-year-old victim, the daughter of a family friend, into believing she was training for an upcoming food-tasting contest at his apartment on January 14, 2023.

Participants were supposed to identify various foods solely by taste.

During the practice session, Cooper allegedly told the woman he was putting a hot dog in her mouth.

The woman said once the item was placed in her mouth, she immediately knew it wasn’t a hot dog.

During his trial before justice Dale Fitzpatrick, Cooper denied putting his penis in the woman’s mouth and alleged she falsely accused him because he refused to give her money.
