NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A supreme court jury of six women and three men unanimously acquitted Freeman Thurston of rape.

Prosecutors had accused Thurston of taking advantage of a drunk woman while taking her home on March 5, 2022.

The incident allegedly took place in the Berry Islands.

Thurston denied the accusation at his trial before Justice Renae McKay.

The jury returned a not guilty verdict after deliberating for 20 minutes.
