GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – A young Grand Bahama man is in need of your help tonight after being diagnosed with a condition that has impacted his mobility. He’s sharing how this condition has now changed his life and why he’s in need of critical surgery.

Meet 25-year-old Justin Albury, a Grand Bahama resident who is now living a harsh reality.

At such a young age, he’s in need of hip replacement surgery because his bones are fused together due to a condition called ankylosing spondylitis.

He was diagnosed almost five years ago. Now albury, reflecting on the last time he was able to work.

And from that moment, Albury’s life changed. He then went to the United States to seek medical attention.

Although he tries to remain positive, he says as a young man the situation is often difficult to manage.

His mother, Katrina Bain is now unemployed because she takes care of her son. And it’s a full-time job, while her husband is abroad working to provide for their family.

But in every dark situation there’s a silver lining.

Sav-Mor Drugs in Freeport has set up donation boxes at each of its cash registers in store for Albury and also provided him with a six-month supply of medication.
