NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The prosecution’s key witness against parliamentarian Adrian Gibson has maintained her claims that he awarded contracts to companies that he owned.

Gibson’s former fiancée Alexnadria Mackey told a Supreme Court jury that Gibson used his position as chairman of the Water and Sewerage Board to give no-bid contracts to Elite Maintenance and Baha Maintenance and Restoration.

Mackey alleged that the companies were given painting and landscaping contracts.

In cross-examination, Mackey admitted that there was no documentation to prove that Gibson owned the companies.

Prosecutors allege that Gibson used friends and relatives to act as shareholders and directors of the companies.

He’s on trial along with the corporation’s former General Manager Elwood Donaldson Jr, Jerome Missick, Joann Knowles and Peaches Farquharson.
