Kidnapped Man Running For Mayor In Mexico Found Alive 

MEXICO – A mayoral candidate for the Morena party in Southern Mexican State Guerrero, was abducted at gunpoint but has now been found alive.

The motive behind the kidnapping of Albino Gómez remains unclear, amid a backdrop of election-related violence in Mexico.

Dozens of candidates have been killed, and hundreds more threatened, in what has been described as the most violent election season in recent history.

Criminal groups reportedly often target candidates to influence election outcomes or secure financial gains through corruption and intimidation.
