NASSAU, BAHAMAS – In his independence day address, King Charles called a list of Bahamian change-makers he’s hoping to meet on his next visit. One of those names was Climate Change Specialist, Marjahn Finlayson.

Climate Change Specialist and educator, Marjahn Finlayson, got quite the surprise on July 9th, when King Charles III mentioned her by name in his official independence address to the nation.

But finlayson wasn’t watching the show live, and when a friend reached out to tell her about it, she thought she was joking.

And in a field where it can often feel like you’re speaking into a dead microphone, Finlayson tells us the moment was validating.
