Thompson’s Clutch Shooting Helps The Warriors Bury The Blazers

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA – Klay Thompson and his Golden State Warriors were in a dogfight on Friday night with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Playing once again without their best player, Stephen Curry, The Warriors traded leads with the Blazers like two heavyweight boxers trading haymakers.

Despite the Warriors leading by 18 in the first half, the Blazers led by as much as 11 in the 3rd quarter before the Warriors mounted a furious comeback in the 4th giving them a 1-point lead with two minutes left. Unfortunately for the Blazers, Bahamian NBA player Klay Thompson decided the game was over.

Thompson’s 3 gave the Dubs a 4-point lead that put them on course to win the game 118-112.

This clutch shot in the 4th quarter was 1 of 7 3-pointers Thompson made in the game out of 15 attempts. He would go on to finish with 31 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists. Jordan Poole went off in this game as well, scoring 41 points to go with 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Dame Lillard had 31 for the Blazers.

Thompson and the Warriors play the Atlanta Hawks next on Monday night. If I was their coach, I would deny Thompson the ball if the game is close at the end.
