U.S.A – Bahamians are playing basketball and excelling at a variety of levels all around the world. Here’s how a few of them did on Saturday night:

Klay Thompson Has Season-High and has a Run-in With Ja Morant

Klay Thompson has been suffering through career lows all season, but he turned back the clock on Saturday night, going for a season-high 22 points to lead the team, which included a vintage first half where he scored 14, including four three-pointers.

It wasn’t enough as Thompson’s Mavericks fell 102-96 to the Grizz.

The game would have been another blip on the grueling 82-game schedule if not for the fact that, after the game, Memphis Point Guard Ja Morant, who sat out the game with an ongoing calf strain, had some choice words for Klay.

Morant has a lengthy history of erratic decision making and downright problematic behavior. Most recently, he clashed with another Bahamian, Buddy Hield.

Here’s what Klay, a respected veteran with 15 seasons, four championship rings, and four all-star appearances under his belt, had to say about it:

FIU’s Bahamian Duo Goes Off

The duo of Rhema Collins and Denika Lightbourne had solid games in their team’s 80-69 loss to Jacksonville on Saturday night.

Collins had a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Denika Lightbourne came off the bench for 15 points.

Despite their outstanding scoring nights, the duo struggled with hanging on to the ball, with Collins committing five turnovers and Lightbourne giving up three.

Both players are having solid seasons, with Collins averaging 16 points and 9 rebounds per game and Lightbourne averaging nearly 10 points.

However, FIU is off to a shaky 1-3 start, and Lightbourne, a small guard, is averaging less than one assist per game to three turnovers, while Collins has yet to log an assist for the season.

For FIU to get in the win column again, look for those numbers to improve.
