NEW YORK, U.S.A. – It looked promising early on for New York Yankee fans, and for Jazz Chisholm Jr. fans that adopted the team since July – but a disastrous fifth inning undid the season and the hopes of a comeback in the 2024 World Series.
The Los Angeles Dodgers rallied to defeat the Yankees 7-6 Wednesday night to close out the series 4-1 at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx.
The Yankees got out to a 3-0 lead in the first when Aaron Judge hit a two-run shot and Chisholm followed with a solo homer of his own into the second deck in right field.
It was the fifth time in Yankees franchise history that hit back-to-back world series home runs.
Chisholm also became the first bahamian to hit a home-run in the world series.
The Yankees built a five run lead with ace Gerrit Cole on the mound, but the Dodgers staged an astonishing, error-filled fifth-inning rally to tie the score.
They pushed across two more runs to take the lead for good in the eighth and held on to claim their eighth title in franchise history.
In his first World Series appearance, Chisholm tallied hits in four of the five games with a .238 average, with one home run, three runs and four stolen bases.

Jones finished with seven points, five rebounds, and two blocks in 17 minutes off the bench.
The Blazers improved to 2-3, got their first road win of the season, and ended a nine-game losing streak to the clippers.
Both players had signature highlight moments.
In the first quarter, Jones got the step on Donovan Klingan and drove down the lane for the two handed dunk, and converted the free throw for the three point play.
Ayton’s hook shot off an offensive rebound with 1:38 to play was the Blazers go ahead bucket and was last points scored by either team.
He also had a big defensive play to deflect the inbound pass on the Clippers final possession.
Over in San Francisco, Buddy Hield continued his hot shooting and led the warriors to back to back wins over the New Orleans Pelicans at the chase center.
He had 21 points to lead six Warriors in double figures of their 104-89 win Wednesday night.
Hield has now made 23 three pointers this season breaking his own record for most made threes in the first five games with a new team in nba history.

The groundswell of support we’ve seen behind Jazz Chisholm the last few months has an opportunity to continue here at home when his foundation hosts the second edition of its little league.
Beginning Friday and running through December 7 at the Andre Rodgers Stadium, the Jazz Chisholm Foundation Little League will open to five divisions – t ball, coach pitch, 11u, 14u, and open.
In its inaugural edition last year, over 200 boys and girls participated in the JCF Little League, hosted at the Blue Hills Sporting Complex.
All participants were provided a jersey, backpack and team equipment at no cost.
A major fundraiser for the league is the JCF auction which is now live at jazzchisholmfoundation.org. Prizes include Chisholm’s game worn gloves, custom cleats, batting practice with jazz, and more.
All proceeds from the auction will support the JCF Little League in The Bahamas and community goodwill programs in the United States.
