NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Anglican church community is mourning the passing of a well-loved priest.

From humble beginnings in Cat Island, Canon Warren Rolle served the Anglican church, the Anglican Central Education Authority and the wider community for decades.

Head of the Anglican church for The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands Bishop Laish Boyd fondly remembers looking up to Rolle, who passed away Wednesday.

Canon Rolle was ordained a priest in 1969.

He served as an assistant at St. Agnes Anglican Church from 1968 to 1997 and then served as rector at St. Mary’s Anglican Church from 1997 to 2008.

Canon Rolle returned to St. Agnes where he was still serving until his retirement

He also taught at St. John’s college for many years. Up to his death, worked at the University of The Bahamas.
