NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Day one came to an end with Mako Aquatics Swim Club holding 613 points, Barracuda Swim Club with 382 points and Alpha Aquatics with 312 points to round out the top three but that was after some hardware was given out.

Our News caught up with several gold medal winners from day one.

Prime Minister Philip Davis also stopped by the pool right in time to present his grandson, Cole Albury, the silver medal for the Boys 8 and under 50m backstroke.

But with the stands almost filled to capacity, we asked the prime minister whether the Betty Kelly Kenning Aquatics Center will be adequate for when the country hosts CARIFTA Swimming next year.

Night two should be underway at this hour and day three will begin Saturday at 9:00am.

Meanwhile, as we reported on Thursday, Daalen Adderley was named to the All-American third team by the Baseball Writers Association of America.

He spent the 2023 season with Texas Southern. Before that he played for Division II Tusculum University in Tennessee but a pandemic changed his plans.

Daalen was statistically one of the best hitters in the nation, which may have come as a surprise to many, but not him.
