NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A murder suspect accused of committing multiple crimes is behind bars.
Twenty-eight-year-old Deon Ferguson faces murder, attempted murder, arson and firearms charges.

Prosecutors say Ferguson murdered Eric Smith, Demetrius Cooper and attempted to murder Bertrum Rolle during a September 23 shooting in Kemp Road.

The arson charge concerns a fire that caused almost $28,000 in damage to 78 Degrees West Lounge on June 12.

Ferguson is also accused of possession of a tactical rifle and 11 unfired rounds of .223 ammunition.

Ferguson didn’t have to enter pleas to the murder, attempted murder and arson charges when he stood before Magistrate Lennox Coleby Sr, and he denied the firearms charges.

Bail was denied. Ferguson returns to court for the firearms case on November 23.

The other cases were adjourned to January 23, 2026.
