NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 30-year-old man is behind bars on a murder charge. 

Prosecutors allege that Lavardo Poitier is responsible for the August 4 shooting death of Omar Fox.

According to police, Fox and another man got were arguing outside a bar on Rosedale Street when a truck pulled up.

A man on the bed of the truck, whom prosecutors say is Poitier, shot Fox and killed him.

Poitier was not required to enter a plea to the murder charge when he stood before Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and Poitier returns to court on November 14 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
