NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 64-year-old man is behind bars after he was arraigned for sexually molesting a family friend. 

Maxwell Ferguson, of Colony Village, is accused of molesting his friend’s 12-year-old granddaughter while she visited his home.

Prosecutors said he indecently assaulted the minor in September 2021.

He allegedly had unlawful sexual intercourse with the girl between November and December 2021.

Then on January 6, 2022, he allegedly tried to have sex with the minor again.

Ferguson did not have to enter pleas to the charges at his first court appearance before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.Bail was refused, but Ferguson was advised of his right to seek bail in the Supreme Court.

He returns to court in January 2023 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
