NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man and his aunt are facing charges after a woman was allegedly attacked during a dispute over parental access to a two-year-old child.

23-year-old Sujhari Robinson and his 52-year-old aunt, Charlene Johnson, appeared before magistrate Abigail Farrington on a causing harm charge.

Prosecutors allege that on October 1 at Palm Estates, Leuarartte Farisien went to retrieve the 2-year-old son she shares with Robinson after he reportedly collected the child from school without her knowledge.

During the confrontation, Robinson allegedly punched Farisien in the face, injuring her eye, while Johnson is accused of biting her hand.

The incident has also prompted an investigation into how police initially handled the matter.

Farisien claims she was turned away from the East Street South police station when she attempted to report the alleged attack.

She subsequently shared a video of the confrontation.

Police are now investigating the initial handling of her complaint.

Meanwhile, Robinson and Johnson have both pleaded not guilty and were each granted $3,500 bail.

They are required to report to the East Street South police station on the last Sunday of each month.

Their trial is scheduled for March 17, 2027.
