NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 29-year-old man has been charged with causing dangerous harm as police investigate a potential murder.

Waylonte Bartlett was arrested after his alleged victim Samuel Thompson died on March 26.
Prosecutors allege that Bartlett

Prosecutors alleged that Bartlett struck Thompson in the head as he tried to part a fight in Rock Sound Eleuthera on March 9.

He remained hospitalized until his death.

An autopsy is underway to determine how Thompson died.

Senior Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr set bail at $9,500 for Bartlett and ordered him fitted with an ankle bracelet.

Bartlett returns to court on April 16.

On that date, he’ll learn whether he will be tried in the Supreme Court or before the magistrate.
