NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 34-year-old Haitian man is facing a manslaughter charge after his girlfriend’s one-year-old son died on November 17.

Johnnian Godin is accused of causing the death of Makyrie Carey.

The toddler was left in Godin’s care while his mother went to work.

During that time, he reportedly received injuries that caused his death.

Godin didn’t have to plead to the charge when he made his first court appearance before Magistrate Raquel Whyms.

Godin returns to court on December 11 for a bail hearing.
