A 47-year-old man is behind bars after he was charged with shooting a 20-year-old man in Eleuthera earlier this month.

Lavardo McKenzie faces charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life in connection with the October 5 shooting of Camron Willie Dean.

The shooting took place outside a bar in Greencastle, Eleuthera, and is believed to be connected to the stabbing of another man earlier that day.

McKenzie did not enter pleas to the charges when he stood before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley. Bail was denied, and McKenzie is scheduled to return to court on February 27, 2025, to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
