NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 27-year-old man is behind bars after being accused of a spree of rapes and sexual assaults in Southwestern New Providence.

Seantino Rolle appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt charged with rape,  forcible taking, armed robbery, abetment to rape, assault and threats of death.

The charges concern incidents that took place from May 2 and May 13.

Prosecutors allege that on May 2 Rolle abetted the rape of a 31-year-old man. Prosecutors allege that Rolle’s accomplice made the man perform a sex act at gunpoint in bushes off Carmichael Road.

Rolle is accused of robbing the man of an Alcatel phone and threatening  to kill him.

Two days later, on May 4, Rolle and an accomplice allegedly abducted a 31-year-old taxi driver at gunpoint before taking her to the Wellfields, where she was sexually assaulted on May 4 and 5 and threatened with death.

The men allegedly robbed the woman of her vehicle, two cellphones and cash. The total value of the items taken was $9,205.

On May 13, Rolle and another man allegedly forced a 38-year-old woman into their car as she walked along Bacardi Road.

The woman was taken into bushes where she was tied up and raped and threatened with death. The men allegedly robbed the woman of $4,045 and a Samsung Galaxy Note 12, valued at $1,500.

Rolle was on bail for the February 22, 2018 murder of David Nelson, who was shot dead during the armed robbery of Gulf Stream Foods.

Rolle didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges and he was remanded to prison.He returns to court on September 6 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
