Man Convicted on Several Armed Robbery Charges

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A recently released convict is back behind bars after being accused of a crime spree.

Stephen Greene faced charges of armed robbery, attempted robbery, garotting, housebreaking, stealing, and receiving when he appeared before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say Greene began his crime spree when he attempted to rob Rebecca Walker of a black back pack containing $100 on December 24, 2022.

He also faced a charge of garotting for allegedly spraying Dan Walker and Christine Barochin with mace in an attempt to incapacitate them in the same incident.

On January 17th, prosecutors say Green robbed Shari and Michael Gluckman of $2,000 cash, two cellphones, an American drivers license and two bank cards at gunpoint.

Four days later, on January 21st, Greene allegedly robbed Ross and Taresa Salmon. In that incident, he allegedly took an iPhone XR, a wallet, $75 in cash and a bracelet watch, worth $600.

The following day, Greene allegedly robbed Nicholas and Janice Maris of $20,000 in jewelry, a TV, laptops, AirPods, an iPad and an Apple Watch.

Greene is also accused of receiving two iPads and Apple Watch and a pair of air buds that belonged to the Maris family.

Greene was also charged with breaking into the home of Neil Dames at Bayview Drive on January 14,2023.

He allegedly stole appliances with a collective value of $1,413.94 in the incident.

Greene was denied bail and he returns to court on March 21.
