NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A judge has denied bail to man accused of a December 2021 shooting over fears that there could be retaliation if he’s released.

Johnathon Duvalier is accused of the December 18, 2022 attempted murder of George Hamilton.

He was ambushed by two gunmen as pulled out of the driveway of his home in Golden Gates Estates.

In his decision, Justice Franklyn Williams KC noted that Duvalier’s backyard had been shot up months before he was charged with the present offense.

Williams said, “I am concerned that there is a string likelihood that the applicant might himself be killed, or at the very least the target of an attack, and the lives of members of the public imperiled thereby.”
