Man Denies Failing to Declare More Than $10K Before Trip to Haiti

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has denied failing to declare the amount of money he was taking to Haiti to Bahamian Customs Officers.

68-year-old Gabriel Pierre was arrested at the Lynden Pindling International Airport on July 14th before he boarded his flight to Cap Haitien, when he was allegedly found with $26,560.

People traveling with over $10,000 are required to declare it.

Pierre has been granted $2,500 bail.

His trial is set to begin on September 28th before Assistant Chief Magistrate Shaka Serville.
