Man Faces New York Court Over Killing Of Healthcare CEO

NEW YORK – Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson late last year, appeared in a New York City courtroom today in full security, with shackles and a bulletproof vest, as he faces murder and terrorism charges.

Mangione’s lawyer argued for removing the restraints, highlighting his status as a “model prisoner” and the public nature of the trial, but the judge upheld the security measures.

This, as public protests continued outside the court.

Prosecutors outlined plans to present extensive evidence, including DNA, body cam footage, and phone records, while objections arose over the pre-trial motion schedule.
