Man Fatally Shot on McQuay Street, Woman Stable

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man was murdered, last night, during a double shooting on McQuay Street that left a woman in hospital.

Family members crying out in anguish last night after a man, believed to be in his mid-20s was shot dead and a woman, said to be in her early 30s, was injured. She was transported to hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

According to Police Press Liaison, Superintendent of Police, Audley Peters, the pair were co-parents.

Peters says the police control room received reports of gunshots shortly after 8pm. He could not confirm the presence of CCTV in the McQuay Street area, but assured the public that police will use all relevant evidence to bring this matter to a close.

Superintendent Peters is calling on the public to come forward with any information. He says it takes a community effort to see results.
