NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Shortly after 7PM on Sunday, officers responded to a shooting incident in front of a residence on Taylor Drive in the Bamboo Town area.

On scene they met a resident of the home, a man in his early twenties, unresponsive.

Emergency Medical Services examined the victim and pronounced him dead on scene.

Press Liaison, Chief Superintendent Sheria King addressed the media on the scene, sharing this bit of information based on initial investigations:

“What we can tell you thus far is the victim along with a group of males were socializing in front of a residence on Taylor Drive off Victoria Boulevard…in the East Street area when occupants on a motorcycle pulled up, [and] one of the occupants came off the motorcycle…[opened] fire on the victim, fatally wounding that victim,” King said.

King confirmed that none of the other men were shot, and when asked if the victim was known to police she gave this response:

“As we always say, information we provide the general public may impede or compromise our investigation….”

“…Right now this male in his early twenties is our victim and we’re going to investigate this as our victim to ensure that the family of this victim gets justice,” she said.
