NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 28-year-old man who missed over 60 court-ordered check-ins while on bail for attempted murder has been jailed for three years.

Donovan Higgins, who had initially denied breaching his bail conditions, changed his plea when he appeared before senior magistrate Algernon Allen Jr. and admitted to skipping 66 police station sign-ins between February 18, and July 17, 2026.

Higgins was on bail after prosecutors accused him of shooting Archelous Thompson in the neck in 2022.

He’s also admitted to that crime and is serving a 15-year sentence.
