NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 24-year-old man has been remanded to prison on a string of serious charges, including murder, attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Desmond Collie is accused of the murder of Aleix Joseph and the attempted murders of Malique Saunders and Takwan Carroll.

He also faces a charge of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger the lives of Saunders and Carroll.

Authorities say Collie was driving a white Acura RDX along East Bay Street at around 1:30 am on October 13 when the occupants of a blue Honda Civic allegedly pulled alongside his vehicle and opened fire.

Police believe the shooting stemmed from an earlier argument at a nearby nightclub.

Collie appeared before acting chief magistrate Ancella Evans, and he was not required to enter pleas to the charges.

He was denied bail and remanded to prison.

Collie returns to court on February 4.
