NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Despite ongoing industrial action by some teachers at Thelma Gibson Primary School, Minister of Education Gleyns Hanna-Martin says the school is fully functional.

Hanna-Martin broke her silence on the issue as the Bahamas Union of Teachers and its members call for the principal to be removed.

The group claims that the principal was involved in an altercation with a teacher.

On Tuesday, B.U.T. President Belinda showed up outside of the Office of The Prime Minister requesting a meeting with him. The next day, the group took their plight to the House of Assembly.

Hanna-Martin insists measures are in place.
