NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “Midnight and Moonlight a Night In Silhouette” is this year’s theme for the 52nd annual Red Cross Ball.

Organizers say that they will give you an event that will leave you breathless – from the foyer to the ballroom, Atlantis Resort was draped in elegant decor.

Shades of purple, black, white and silver lit up the ballroom floor, creating night shadows depicting an evening under the stars.

This year’s event was held under the patronage of the country’s governor general, Dame Cynthia Pratt.

Showing their support for the event was Prime Minister Philip Davis, opposition leader Michael Pintard, President of the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) and Red Crescent Societies, Kate Forbes, and other dignitaries.

Meanwhile, the evening’s individual honorees were Dionisio and Saskia D’Aguilar, and the corporate honoree was the Baha Mar Resort Foundation.

The ambiance, appetizing dishes, and humorous host, Wilbert Stubbs all coming together to create unforgettable moments for attendees, and even rekindling past experiences.

O’Neil Bain and his wife Nateisha both reminiscing on the year they attended the ball as a couple, now returning as husband and wife.

“So funny enough we actually [were] looking at our camera roll, we were here ten years ago before we were married, much younger, it was a great night back then, and we’re sure it’s going to.”

Married for 46 years, Basil and Carolyn Longley told me attending the ball is tradition, not just for social pleasantries, but as part of their social responsibility.

“Sponsorship, right, so making a donation to the cause is the primary thing right, and the benefit of it is you follow up with a little partying.”

Entertainment was provided by the Royal Bahamas Defense Force Dance Band, Royal Bahamas Police Force Pop Band, Da Rhythm Band and Cj Da Dj.

Over 100 guests swarmed the dance floor, ending the evening with the sounds of Rake N’ Scrape.

President of the IFRC, Kate Forbes, praised the local organization and their supporters for another successful year.
