NASSAU, BAHAMAS – ‘Your Wellness Matters’ – that’s the charge of the new Wellness Unit officially launched by the Ministry of Health and Wellness, Thursday.

Prime Minister Philip Davis officially opened the new arm of the Ministry of Health and Wellness.

In addition to establishing the Wellness Unit, the ministry will use the wellness campaign as one of the key drivers to help Bahamians make changes to their lives for better health, according to the PM.

In addition to making better lifestyle choices, PM Davis says moving toward wellness also means changing the cultural attitude toward mental illness.

The Prime Minister explained government is also taking steps to ensure nutritious food is affordable for Bahamians.

Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Michael Darville, said his ministry has been assessing the current health needs of the health care system.
