NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Health officials are revealing more about the confirmed cholera case.

It turns out the patient had no recent travel to Haiti, the country that is currently experiencing an uptick in cases.

Cholera is caused by an infection of the intestine.

The disease has broken out in Haiti which confirmed 32 cases as of October 9th.

Health Minister Dr. Darville says the local case has health officials beefing up protocols.
