NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The mother of Dino Smith, the man shot and killed in broad daylight on January 3rd, believes the release of voice notes prompting an investigation into the Criminal Investigation Department is part of an answered prayer.

Sandra Smith claims her son was being harassed by law enforcement before his untimely demise.

Smith says her son was shot 51 times in a vehicle on Prince Charles Drive. She says the day before his death, he told her about the voice notes that have The Royal Bahamas Police Force’s top ranks shaken.

During a press conference Monday, Police Commissioner Clayton Fernander said the reliability of the voice notes must be determined. The grieving mother says there’s no doubt the voice in the recording is her son.

The integrity of the police force has been thrust into the limelight since Sylvens Metayer released the damning recordings. He was shot in a Facebook Live late Monday night, hours after the commissioner’s press conference to address the issue.

Smith says Dino is her third child to be taken by gun violence.

Sandra Smith questions who will take care of her son’s kids, expressing deep sorrow and concern for their future.
