NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The precision and discipline on display during major national events — like the Opening of the Legal Year — are the result of weeks of preparation by officers of the Royal Bahamas Police Force.

Behind the polished performance is the Internal Security Division, led by Superintendent Devaughn McCartney, responsible for organizing the ceremonial parades.

The 24-member platoon is carefully selected, often beginning with recruits identified at the Police Training College.

Officers then undergo weeks of rigorous training to ensure synchronization, physical readiness and flawless execution — regardless of weather conditions.

Officials say preparation for major events can take anywhere from four to six weeks, with practices continuing rain or shine.

The result is a display of discipline that has become a hallmark of national ceremonies.
