NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid what seems to be mounting concerns over police officers allegedly beating individuals into confessions while in custody, National Security Minister Wayne Munroe says faceless allegations against law enforcement officers will not be tolerated.

He says practicing attorneys need to do their jobs in instances like these.

His comments come after Bradshaw Demeritte revealed he intends to file a civil suit against the commissioner of police for allegedly being beaten while in custody.

Additionally, a man recently told the Tribune newspaper that his brother was beaten while at the central investigation department.

The issue isn’t a new one as multiple attorneys have spoken out about clients being beaten into confessions which they say is often time revealed in trials.
