GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – What was once a popular activity for many Grand Bahamians, may soon return – a new movie theatre and entertainment center.

Cayplex Entertainment, the brainchild of 29-year-old Brinard Sweeting, was birthed more than three years ago.

The young Grand Bahamian says the idea came after Hurricane Dorian destroyed the island’s only movie theatre.

Cayplex Entertainment will also include a bowling alley and roof deck restaurant but Sweeting says the first phase will be an outdoor drive-in movie theatre experience.

He says two potential properties have been located for the future home of Cayplex and that a groundbreaking is slated later this year.

Sweeting says Bahamians will also have an opportunity to become owners.
