NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A new National Medical Services headquarters was commissioned today. This new facility will be a central hub for emergency medical technicians charged with saving lives across the island.

The new 5000 sq. ft National Emergency Medical Services Headquarters, located on University Boulevard has been years in the making. This, according to Managing Director of the Public Hospital Authority, Dr. Aubynette Rolle.

She says the facility will have a dedicated training room for all EMT’s across the country.

Minister of health and wellness Dr. Michael Darville, noting that the central location will allow for shorter response times and hopefully, more lives saved.

A major transformation in the delivery of medical services throughout the nation is also underway according to the health minister.

Dr. Rolle says increased resources and training will play a key role in this transformation.
