NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Health Minister Dr. Michael Darville said there is no need for “major panic” over COVID-19 at this time, or implementation of restrictive measures.

Dr. Darville gave remarks as he thanks the People’s Republic of China for the donation of three 40-foot trailers of medical supplies to help in the fight against the COVID pandemic.

The health minister says the supplies will go a long way in the fight against the virus, and will be used at Princess Margaret Hospital as well as Rand Memorial Hospital on Grand Bahama.

He added that health officials are keeping an eye on the spread of COVID-19, and cases in China, but local officials feel there is no need for new travel restrictions for travelers coming from China.
