NORWAY – The stepson of Norway’s crown Prince Haakon has been found guilty of two counts of rape as well as domestic violence and other crimes – being sentenced to four years in prison.

An Oslo court handed down the ruling on Monday.

29-year-old Marius Borg Hoiby, who joined the royal family when his mother married in 2001, was acquitted on two other counts of rape.

He had pleaded not guilty to the most severe accusations against him, while admitting to some lesser ones, and can appeal the verdict.

The seven-week trial gripped the Nordic country, detailing his drug addiction, self-made videos of sexual encounters, where more than 800 electronic messages entered into evidence.
